In any case, the flashing LED works well. The only places that get paid on commission are the little places. So install times are really not in any way transferable from shop to shop.īig Box stores are all hourly. Add to that we had to field every phone call about anything car related and things took 3-4x as long as they should. ![]() And people would always drive up to the shop trying to get us to look at their car, ask us questions about any and everything, or just waste our time in general. At my shop, the installers also had to double as sales people pretty much, as our sales staff was stupid. While an alarm might take 2 hours at moke's shop, at a different shop the installers will have different responsibilities, etc. He shut up and paid normal price, he was lucky I didn't add on an annoying customer service fee.Īnd keep in mind, install times are different at different shops. But if he could do the work, we wouldn't be discussing this. If he could do the work, then he would be qualified to make that statement. He is not qualified to make that statement. Fact is, it takes time to do decent work.īut my point is that the OP said that it was "an hour or two of work I wish I could do". A 2 hour install from someone not experienced is not going to be clean, and is not going to be complete. The '06 F150s are easy yes, but for an experienced installer. It flashes when the car is off, and doesn't when its on. Then solder your resistor on to your LED, and ground the other leg of the LED.
